Day 30

Day 30 - Granny

My husband's grandmother - a sweet, precious lady!  We had a surprise birthday party for her, and in this image she was four of her great-grandchildren sing Happy Birthday!  Her hands are a bit blurry, I know, it was quite dark by this point and I couldn't get the shutter speed low enough, but the expression on her face was too precious not to share.  Love this, and her!

Day 29

Day 29 - The Birthday Diva

I love working with all people, but I am finding as I grow more as an artist that little people are my favorite.  Kaylee is no exception, she is a joy to photograph, throwing out winning smiles and laughing at me the whole time.  Love this shot we captured for her birthday invitations for the BIG 1!

Day 28

Day 28 - Taylor Family

I love the expressions on the little girls' faces.  I asked them to walk away from me, and when I yelled for them to stop, the girls turned around, almost as if to ask me "Why?!" :)

Day 26 - Serenity

I don't know if it's becasue I have a little boy, or if I just love scenes like this one but this image really affects me with it's story.

Day 11

Day 11 - Country Sunset

I think sunsets and landscapes are going to end up being the focus of this project.  I find them fascinating and tend to lean towards photographing scenes like this one when I don't have a scheduled session.

Day 10

In loving memory of my grandmother, Vivian Dineen King, who has been with Jesus for five years.  It's hard for me to believe.

Day 9

Day 9 - January 9, 2011

An evening by the fire is one of my favorite winter perks.  I dream of living in a place where there are actual seasons - Florida tends to have 10 months of summer and 2 months of fall, but we've actually had some very cold days this year.  Enjoying this beautiful fire tonight with my family.

Day 8

Day 8 - January 8, 2011

Tarina Wade recently had me out to her family's home to capture some images of her horses.  Tarina barrel races and ropes with Steel and Velvet and shares a special relationship with them.  Here, we were trying to bring Steel in for a close up and a kiss, but he was a little camera shy and hesitant about the shoot - and certainly let Tarina know his true feelings about it!

Day 7

Day 7 - January 7, 2011

I love living in the country, and what God does with the sunsets out here.

Day 6

Day 6 - January 6, 2011

Pecan trees in their winter state, I'll try to remember to take a similar image in the spring and summer when all the leaves are back :)

Day 5

Day 5 - January 5, 2011

Yes, I've already missed a day :) and I've missed posting for several days.  Forgive me, it's been a VERY busy week.

This is a bridal portrait of Sara Scaggs taken during a recent Bridal and Prom Event held in Branford, FL.  Image was captured at The Shrine Club, also in Branford, FL.

Day 4

Day 4 - January 4, 2011

Today, I was so excited to be able to photograph the Eubanks family.  Arnett and Crystal are both from the Suwannee / Columbia area, but they are on a missions trip right now.  Their home away from home for over a year now has been in West Africa.  I so enjoy and look forward to Crystal's blog updates about their life, their son Zeke (who was born in Africa), and the work God is doing through them in Africa.

You can check out Crystal's blog here:

So, anyway, we did a portrait session today and I had a great time.  This is a shot I really hoped to capture - of Zeke "running away" from Mom and Dad while they followed.  It took a few tries to get it set up right, but Zeke was really into the running away game and we had a good time.

Day 3

Day 3 - January 3, 2011

I couldn't help myself today.  I actually took lots of pretty neat images in a few different locations, but this was the one I just have to share.  Troy and "Miss Cerra" at our lunch date at the McDonald's playroom in Lake City.  Ciera has been a special part of our lives for a long time, and a special part of Troy's entire life.  He loves her dearly, and always looks forward to our time together when she "flies home from school (ORU) on her big airplane!!"  Thanks for making one little guy's day Miss Ciera, and have a safe trip back to college!

Day 2

Day 2 - January 2, 2011

My family has raised beef cattle since I was born, and before.  It is a daily task for my husband and myself to make sure they are okay and fed.  During the winter, they eat hay that is baled on our own farm in Florida, and planted rye grass.  This image was captured as storm clouds rolled in over the herd today while they were grazing on the rye grass.

Day 1

So, I'm feeling a little overwhelmed because I'm starting my Project 365 on Day 2 of 2011.  Already a day behind and only two days into the year.  So with that, let me tell you that you might not get a new picture every single day - at least not here and on Facebook.  I have set a personal goal to use my camera every single day of 2011 however, so I'm going to try very hard to meet that goal - even if you don't see the images until a day or two later. I'll try not to get TOO behind!

The point of the project is simply to make myself pick up my camera every day.  Too often, several days go by without a scheduled shoot, or when I'm busy with editing and the business side of the photography industry, my family, or whatever else is going on.  I want to meet 2011 head on and say, "this year, I'm going to put my passion for photography at the very front, and take that camera everywhere I go."

I'm sure my family will just LOVE this, but they've been pretty good about it so far.  Yesterday and today.  We'll see how THEY all feel on Day 365 and see if this is something that might carry on into 2012.

So, without any more chatting, here we go.  2011 in images from Studio386 photographer Erin Roberts.  I hope you enjoy!!

Day 1 - January 1, 2011

Bridal bouquet designed for Tabitha Crisp for the Crisp - Taylor Wedding in Branford, FL.  Designed by Suzette Maddox from The Flower Shop in Branford, FL.  I shot this image while taking pictures of all the wedding flowers for Suzette to add to her beautiful portfolio.  If you haven't been to The Flower Shop lately, you need to stop by.  Suzette adds beautiful little things daily to make it so much more than a place to get gorgeous flower arrangements.  Here's her website www.theflowershopbranfordfl.com and phone number (386) 935-2144.
